History in Turkmenistan
DRC provides a range of procurement and distribution services to businesses in Turkmenistan, including on-site procurement/staffing, supply chain management, warehouse and inventory services, and logistics and transportation management.
According to the company website, DRC has been involved in several projects within Turkmenistan including design and providing equipment for the Hyundai Naval Base, lubricants and PPE fire resistant clothing for Petonas’ onshore gas plant, assisted Petrofac in the 2011 development of the South Yolotan field, lubricants for Technip, and assisted Naftna Industrija Srbije with 5 drilling rigs, again in 2011.[ii]
Current Scope of Operations
According to a Reuters report [iii], 2018, the company may have reduced its involvement in the country, with Chief Executive Steve Crabtree stating, “We got some good traction in the early days. The largest project was in 2015 with Hyundai Amco on the navy shipyard, which was a great success for both Hyundai and DRC, but sadly, those days are far behind us and it’s a whole new ball game, I have cut expenses, replaced management, and keep pushing forward. I’m hopeful that conditions change for the country and we can get back to supporting great projects.”
