GREEN SALVATION APPEALS TO THE GOVERNMENT OF KAZAKHSTAN

Crude Accountability is working in partnership with the Ecological Society “Green Salvation“, based in Almaty, Kazakhstan to provide the villagers of Berezovka with legal consultation and support. As such, Green Salvation submitted appeals to the government of Kazakhstan in December 2004, requesting specific information related to operations at the Karachaganak Oil and Gas Condensate Field.

Karachaganak Sanitary Protection Zone Reinstated to Five Kilometers–On October 24, 2007, Crude Accountability’s partner, Green Salvation, received an official letter from the Kazakhstan Ministry of Health stating that the Sanitary Protection Zone (SPZ) around the Karachaganak Oil and Gas Condensate Field was recognize to be five kilometers, as had been officially stipulated in a 2003 decree.
